Barbara moved from Dallas,TX to Midland,TX two years ago. She was born in Denton, TX to artistic parents and attended North Texas University. This proud "Native Texan" enjoys being retired in Midland.
Barbara says, "I learned the most about oil painting by reading books, taking lessons, and watching many expert artists demonstrate in person and on videos. Practicing their styles and techniques was helpful and fun for me to try. When I paint I vary subject matter (portraits, landscapes and still life) because I think it keeps my paintings 'fresh'. "
Her goals are to express the personalities of the people in portraitures, to show motion and light in landscapes, and to create "lively" still life paintings. Experimenting with techniques and brush strokes, mixing bold and beautiful color, and seeking interesting subject material inspires her future artwork.
